Session 1:

Title: Employment Litigation and the "Me Too" Impact
Speaker: Gerry Preciado, President of 34th Street Consulting
Description: 
This session will address the recent #METOO movement and the sweeping effect it is having in society. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and interact with Gerry Preciado, an Employment Loss Prevention consultant and attorney. Mr. Preciado's consulting practice focuses on empowering both management and employees with the skills needed to successful prevent and respond to offensive conduct in workplace cultures. His discussion will focus on prevention of employment losses, what effect the “me too” movement has had on California's employment climate, and how best to respond to sexual harassment complaints before they become litigated. 

 

Session 2:
Title: The Brown Act - it's history and Dyer
Speaker: Gregory Dyer, Paratner at Jones and Dyer
Description:

This course will provide attendees with the history of the Brown Act and its application in the public sector as well as claims handling. Gregory Dyer will explain who must comply with the Brown Act, timeframes that must be considered, the consequences of not complying and suggestions for how to manage the risks of complying with the Brown Act.

 

Cost: $25 (includes lunch)
